Honestly I would absolutely love a mini(er) version of this that I could just put on a shelf or a desk for decoration. Maybe use an esp32 and make some sort of web page that you can control the lights from.
I think I know what my next electronics project is gonna be!
Did you think of using latching connectors for each string of LEDs to attach to the PCBs? Yes it shifts the effort from soldering to crimping, but would make it possible to disassemble the tree without soldering.
Damn, I have to knew it, Tom Betgeorge, who other could have been? 🤣 Every year I watch his light show, the Halloween and the Christmas one and I get scared thinking about his electricity bill.

I like the design of your fume extractor, much better than what I have.
Halloween is better
For anyone wondering, the hottest Xmas in Melbourne was in 2019 and was 36 degrees C, or 96 degrees F, it gets warm. No snow here.
How have I never thought to fix the soldering iron with the tip raised to free both hands for tinning wires before? 🤦

Wow, still to see the video, but this could be my next project. It could be possible to finish it in time.
Thank you! 😂
