  1. Virtuos you say? That actually is really good, their recent Oblivion and mgs3 remasters have been really good visually, and really captured the artstyle of those games, minus a few nit picks here and there like the weird piss fog oblivion has, not as vibrant as the original oblivion, but than the original oblivion came out at a time when developers used too much bloom.

  2. It's gonna fucking suck. Virtuos Studio has an absolutely terrible track record making games on the Unreal 5 engine. Every single game they made on the UE5 has terrible performance issues.

  4. Makes me feel a lot better that the people working on this are stationed in the Netherlands. I was worried that 343 had full directional control over every single aspect for the remake. I'm still skeptical, but the studio not being based in the US has put a couple of points into the hope jar.

  5. Oof virtuous again. If that is the case then this is definitely gonna be a dual engine game like oblivion remastered and metal gear solid 3 remastered.

    And well, lets just say virtuous are not that efficient in using unreal engine 5.

Next or any Halo games going forward MUST have the legacy style menus, NO MORE DUMB BUMPER SLIDE MENUS, unless its to look more like the Xbox 360 blades 😅, but no gotta get the Halo CE to Reach Style, vertical drop downs and proper thumbnails for maps and not the stoopid tile clutter Infinite has 😂

    Stop copying from others, Halo Studios please scrape this nasty stuff off our platters and give us our uniqueness back, we aren't other games, we cant strive to be like others, they need to strive to be us, we need Halo killers again and not Halo unaliving itself

  7. Great deep dive work, my lord. I'm really hoping this is a fully fledged reimagining of CE (in terms of the actual ‘game’ itself, not like rewriting the story to something different). But I'm scared that it will be a “remaster” though since the first ever report started by Tom Warren at The Verge said as such. Now that we’ve seen what a “remaster” consists of these days from The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion earlier this year, I'm hoping it's not just the same game with a graphical overhaul, yes among other things, but still keeping to the original game logic enough that it influences too much of what SHOULD be a FULLY-FLEDGED remake. Then again, it's supposedly taking from the Reach version of the engine and not CE’s, so I don't even know what that entails. “Remake” was solely something coined by the fanbase since nobody believed it would just be another graphical overhaul like the CE anniversary remaster. But again, what is considered a “remaster” these days has just been redefined by Oblivion 2025.

    So Rebs, please see what info you can get to clarify what the true direction of this game is going to be like. If it's sort of like what they just did with Oblivion, then I don't think it’ll be enough. But, if it's actually like a full-on REIMAGINING <— (keyword) like say, the Resident Evil remake games: 2, 3, 4 (that I always like to point to as a great example of what a kept storyline, in terms of the general main plot points at least, yet drastically overhauled ‘GAME’ looks like), then it could be something really special and not the thing I'm afraid of… which is the sort of thing I think most people don't care for. Nobody seems to want another CE “overhaul” and yet I don't even think they realize the potential of it if it was a complete reimagining like Resident Evil.

  8. Wait but their studio page only says that they only helped adding accessibility related stuff to the MCC, they did not seem to have worked on anything important related to Halo in the past

  9. Virtous being so prominent these past year is really interesting. So far they've been involved in many major projects – Oblivion Remaster, Metal Gear Solid Delta, Cyberpunk Updates, Halo Remake, and also Fallout 3 Remake. Wouldn't be surprised if Xbox (if Microsoft decides that) might try to purchase them as their own remake/remaster studio just like PlayStation has Bluepoint for that.

  11. This is not a good sign at all. Their work on Oblivion was not good, but you would only know that if you were a fan who played the original game and realized all of the unfaithful renditions of things they made. Not to mention how the game will look hyper realistic without any of the style that Halo CE had, and it will run very poorly as all things from them and UE5 do. I am extremely disappointed

  12. When games were made back in the day such as original Halos with Bungie, were they using multiple companies to make the game or was it just Bungie? I feel like there are more studios helping create games more than ever before and we’ve also seen a lot of the worst quality releases in the past couple years due to this

  13. The Oblivion remake isn't the best from a performance perspective on pc. Hopefully, it doesn't get repeated. But if I know xbox, they'll only give enough funding for a month of post-launch updates like EA did for Dead Space remake.
