It's pretty impressive he got those chants and that much applause. The Red Sox vs. Yankees rivalry still exists but it was really something the years that Jeter was there especially 2004. Very cool of Boston though.
No way the infielder genuinely missed that catch lol but that earns the Red Sox a lot more respect in my book since at that point they recognized it was no longer about winning the game and instead giving one of the greatest baseball legends ever one of the best send-offs ever. So much so that the Red Sox fans were even booing their own pitcher when he threw a strike and clapped when he threw a ball lol
10 years later, I'm watching this again, just days after watching Ichiro have his number retired by the Mariners. Lest we forget how this video starts: Ichiro, with a 2 run triple. The man on third, who Jeter batted in for his last RBI at Fenway, is the newest member of the Baseball Hall of Fame and the third number retired by the Seattle Mariners. The level of greatness, compacted into just two players, who earned the respect and admiration of millions, further compacted into a single, profound moment. When the greatest contact hitter in baseball history is the footnote for it's greatest ambassador ⚾ 💪🫡
Fenway and Boston may be Red Sox nation, but the fans definitely know their baseball and it's players league wide. They have respect for players who have paid their dues.
Watching Judge wear the Captain's hat is so hard, but then again I was a Derek fan when I was about 8. I jumped in the Judge bandwagon his rookie year. You gotta have faith.

One of Baseball's all time greats. Boston bid him a great farewell.
thats respect for not catching that ball and going all out
Contrast this with how the Boston fans chanted for A-Rod to be a pinch hitter just so they could boo him one final time.

He was one of the greatest players of all time. Doesn't matter what team he was on everyone knew that.
Pedro might have hit the guy.

As a Mets diehard fan I give all my respect to the captain

I'm not even a Baseball fan but some how loved his game.

Great job by the commentators to not ramble on like they often can. Just kept it for exactly what it was. A moment to remember.
Friendly Rivalries!
Jeter sort of looks like a white Kobe
Doesn't matter where you're from, when you teach your kids how to play the game correctly, you teach them to play like Derek Jeter.
overrated ridiculous
HE WAS NOT THAT GOOD
Shoulda finished the game tho I get you wanna head on top but finish the game
Thank you nice guy,JETER。
Overrated
This makes me cry every time I watch it. Good bye to the greatest shortstop in baseball barnone

Nobody talks about whoever caught that foul ball
A name that resonates around the world ⚾
If this was in Philly they would've bood him mercilessly. Those people got no class. Boston is definitely the best sports town in the USA.
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
