The processor in my main PC is a massively overclocked and watercooled Intel. For my specific tasks and work, Intel is the faster chip, and I can afford them. If I couldn't, I would've used AMD.

Let's just part all of the AMD vs Intel warring by stating. Both AMD and Intel are pretty good processors. They get the job done and have a lot to spare on anything any average person would require, whether it be general net-surfing, gaming, work, graphic design or pretty much anything.
Put aside the differences and just enjoy the fact that both processors are good in their own ways.
I use to have an intel Celeron inside now I have a 3570k inside.
If this does that, what is the point of having an option to turn it on and off?
It can handle up to 3500 processes per second of cause' it wouldn't be able to handle the power of Solitaire
It can handle e-mail and simple games while your beloved watches videos on your hard drive via intranet at the same time your virus scanner is running as you upload a video to YouTube. This much I can attest to.
Intel licenses from AMD the x64 architecture so there is a bit of AMD inside all new Intel processors

i overclocked my i7 2600k to a 4,5ghz its has been running for years turbo mode only clock about 200-300mz and i had very high tempetures on my cpu until i got a watercooler and overcloked it,, i had it for about 4 years i think its still very good processor i only had to change my graficcard over time
